DIY Distressed Table Tops for Food Bloggers

I was asked by a friend and fellow blogger to make a few table tops for her. She is the amazing and very talented food blogger of skinnytaste.com She is a well known foodie in the blog world and her recipes are just amazing!

For food stylists and food bloggers, they need to have different table tops to showcase and photograph their dishes on. Although they use various tables, tablecloths, place mats and accessories to mix it up, it can get a bit challenging.

Jazz Up Your Sunglasses ~ Easy, Awesome, DIY!

Hello all! Here is a quick fashion DIY for those of you who are bored with the look of your sunglasses. I own three pairs that I absolutely love and realize that all of them look just about the same. Black, kinda oversized and all plastic, including the rim. I love the metal look of the other trendy sunglasses but hate the fact that you can't really wear them to the beach or in the water...Here is a quick tip to have that look plus wear them wherever, even in the water. Doing this adds a little brightness to your face...

Create Cozy Reading/Nap Areas for Kids!

I am on the prowl for a hanging wicker basket chair for our home. I fell in love with these chairs on a recent vacation where every balcony at the hotel had one. It is super cozy and it brings you back to childhood days no matter how old you are. That one (above) was big enough for hubby and I to doze off in almost every night and I thought, how fun would it be to have this at home...In the living room, our room or even in the kids room-hung low enough for them to climb in and out for story time or nap time. I know I would have loved that as a kid!

I found this one (below) at pier1imports. It is big enough for one adult and child or two kids to sit in at once. You can buy whatever color cushions to match your decor. How perfect is this...

Shave Your Clothes Back to NEW!!

It was so cool to find this on the internet a few months ago. I've done this all through high school and thought it was my little secret trick to keeping my sweaters looking like new. I guess not. I have come to learn that lots of thrifty people out there know about this one. Just think of all the clothing that's sitting in your closet that can use some extra love and care. This trick has saved me from tossing a lot of my quality sweaters in the trash.

As a woman I know how hard it is to find that perfect bathing suit when summer finally hits. It is such a rough process trying on swimwear. It gets even harder as we get older. I can never find the right color, size, support, quality or even the right coverage! I'm amazed at how tiny some swimsuits really are...As a mom, my choice in swimwear has changed dramatically. I actually
